Roundup 8: Games Made With Free Art!

Summer is almost over – when did that happen? But more games are being made every day, and some of them take advantage of the free art on this site! Read on to see the latest games:

Grab your hammer – it’s time to smash some rodents! This classic arcade game uses the Mole Whack game pack. It includes several modes like Classic, Time Trial, and Multi-Player so that you can test your reflexes and play against your friends.

Uses Cat Jump game pack

This game was made as a project for children with special needs. It allows kids who might not be able to see the pips on small dice to play a similar board game using donated iPads. It’s currently only available in German, but they are working on translating it. The dog from the Cat Jump game art pack runs through the scene – dogs make everything better!

Read more about the project here, or find the game in the app store!

Uses Monkey Platformer game pack, Squirrel Attack game pack

This cute matching game helps kids (or adults) learn words for animals in different languages. Each time an animal is found, a voice reads the name of that animal in the language chosen (currently either English, German, or Chinese, with more languages to come!).

It’s available for Blackberry here.

And finally, get it on your Kindle Fire!

Want to make a game with free art?

It’s a great way to make your first app without spending a lot of money on art. Find all of the free art sets on this site here – there are tile sets, platformer sets, scrolling sets… go see if one of them fits that game idea you’ve been thinking of!

And when you finish a game, I’d love to see it! You can use my Contact form to send me a link to your game or app. I will likely feature it in a future roundup!
