Just imagine yourself on a nice sandy beach, relaxing in the sun and listening to the surf.
Suddenly… pinch!
I wanted to feature a crab this month, but the actual design was difficult to settle on. My initial sketches had the crab holding some of the letters, or staring into space, or large in the foreground with “August” behind him in the surf. Finally I realized that I wanted to do something a little different – I wanted to use the month’s letters as a major part of the design, rather than an optional element.
This means, of course, that there are no non-calendar versions of the wallpaper this month!
As usual, I created the main elements (crab, typography) in Adobe Illustrator and then transferred them to Photoshop for texturing and shading and such.
