Checkers, also called English Draughts, is a classic board game that’s been around for hundreds (thousands, for some variants) of years.
We’ve all (hopefully) played this game growing up – a nice little introduction to strategy, or at least a way to while away the hours at summer camp!
If you’ve wanted to make an iPad or iPhone Checkers game, now’s your chance! This game art pack comes with everything you need.
Each player has 12 pieces, which can only move diagonally. Until they reach the opposite end of the board and are kinged, the pieces can only move forward. Jumping over an opponent’s piece captures it. The goal is to capture all of the opponent’s pieces.

The inspiration here was those stone tables you see old men playing at in parks. All art is sized for the iPad and iPad retina. If you want to use it for the iPhone, use the regular images (not the @2x ones) as your iPhone retina images and resize them to 50% for the unretina images.
- Background image: grass
- Stone table image
- Red, white, and black tokens – you can pick which you want to use for your game!
- A “scoreboard” overlay – can also be used for player prompts, or as a toolbar or other UI.
- A large overlay – can be used for menus or endgame options. See mockup below.
- A button for your menus – it is transparent and meant to be put over the large overlay
