iPhone-iPad-Desktop Wallpaper: May 2012: Bear Swim

Who’s not busy these days? Sometimes it seems we are just keeping our heads above water. Take time to smell the flowers, if you can find them under all the rain… or just go for a moonlit swim!

Multiple screen resolutions and non-calendar versions can be found at the bottom of the post.

I’ve been working on a sketching project this year, where I sketch each day from a daily calendar featuring animals. It’s a great way to get yourself to take the time to sketch: find a daily calendar with a subject you like (architecture, people, animals, landscapes), and sketch that subject each day. If you miss a day or two, it doesn’t take long to catch up!

The animals I sketch lately seem to leap into my mind in vector format, and this bear was a favorite of mine. You can see it go from sketch to final wallpaper over on my personal blog.

Here it is without the calendar:

Cool! You could watch Frozen Planet on discovery to get some sketch ideas for this hot summer we are having! Plus polar bears and such are adorable :)
